Domaine de Moulines Merlot red wine 75cl

Domaine de Moulines is to be found near Sete on the Languedoc coast. In an area where most makers contribute to the local cooperative, the Saumade family remain fiercely independent, producing two contrasting wines (100% Merlot and 100% Cabernet Sauvignon) in an almost New World style. The vineyard is worked according to 'culture raisonee' and the wines are unfiltered. This particular red is 100% Merlot and is unoaked.

An intensely ruby-red in colour. A rich nose of red cherries, plums and subtle peppery notes. Medium-bodied in texture with flavours of red berries, cassis and a hint of mint. Refreshing acidity and a long finish make this an excellent food wine. Serve with a rabbit and prune stew, duck confit or fillet steak with a Bearnaise sauce.
